Launched in September of 2012, Tinder has taken the world by storm. There are an estimated 50 million users on this dating platform with 10 million of those being daily Tinder users. That’s a lot of fish in the sea to choose from!
Here’s how it works. Tinder users will create a profile and be swept into the big wide world of swiping left and right to find your soulmate. You’ll swipe left for those users you aren’t interested in and swipe right for those you are. If someone else has swiped right on you it’s a match and you can start chatting him or her up!
Signing up on Tinder is super easy, unlike a lot of dating sites out there. First, head over to the App Store or Google Play to download it. When you first open the app, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your Facebook account. Don’t worry though! Tinder will only use Facebook to grab some photos of you and help you start off your profile.
After that, you’re free to edit your profile and pics to impress all those lovely ladies or gentleman out there.
Tinder has shown a major interest in the diversity of profiles and the ability to customize your profile to your heart’s content. For example, just last year, Tinder added up to 39 different gender types in the interest of the transgender and gender fluid communities. You won’t have any problem finding diverse profiles on this platform!
There isn’t concrete data on the quality of Tinder profiles, but hey, that’s the name of the game. But with 10 million active users, you’re bound to find someone to share that morning coffee with.
First of all, the functionality of Tinder is easy as pie. You make your profile, edit your settings, and BAM – you start swiping. Swipe right for those profiles you’re into and swipe left for those that aren’t so great. When you swipe right on someone who’s also swiped right on you, you two lovebirds can start chatting away.
Other features include the ability to send GIF’s rather than actual words. You can add up to six photos of your beautiful self on your profile and customize it to your heart’s content. You can even pay for some additional features with Tinder Plus: undoing your last swipe left in case it was a mistake, “super-liking” someone, and setting your location to anywhere in the world so you can swipe from Singapore to New York City.
There is no solid success rate for everyone in Tinder. It largely depends on the quality of your profile, the cleverness of your bio, and just sheer luck that someone will swipe right on you. So you need to make sure everything is solid before you set out there if you want to get a lot of matches.
For Tinder, your security and safety is shown to be a top priority for them. They have multiple guidelines to follow as your swiping away and use Facebook as a medium to ensure there are only real humans using the app. But it largely it comes down to you to make sure you’re being safe and secure on the platform. This is the same with any dating platform out there, so use your common sense and you should be fine!
Emailing the Tinder team to receive assistance for any issues you’re running into is super easy. Just head over to their site or head to your Settings in the app and send the team an email! They’ll get back to you ASAP and help you out.
